HPS Jun 24 Weekly Update
High Park School Memo
Week of June 24-28
Elementary Fun Day
On the afternoon of June 25th, students in K-4 will participate in fun outdoor activities (weather permitting) to celebrate the end of the school year. A free hot dog lunch will be provided thanks to our nutrition program funding. A gluten-free option will be available for students with this dietary restriction.
Year-End Awards and Grade 9 Farewell Ceremony
On June 26, we will hold our grade 7-9 awards ceremony and our grade 9 farewell. The ceremony will begin at 1:00 pm. Doors will open at 12:35, following our K-6 lunch recess. Please do not arrive prior to this time to avoid congestion in our playground area as students are out for recess. You will be notified by email this coming week if your child is receiving an award or recognition at this event. If you would like for a sibling in K-6 to attend with you, please sign them out at the office when you arrive at the school so we do not count them in our afternoon classroom attendance.
Locker Clean Out
Students should start taking home their belongings that they will not need for the last couple of weeks. Please note that large bags or items are not permitted on the bus, so students should take home items in smaller batches or make arrangements with a parent to pick them up if bringing home a large bag of items.
Report Cards
Report cards will go live on Powerschool after the end of the school day on June 27th. Please login to your Parent Portal to view and download these reports. If you need assistance, please contact our office.
School Supplies for 2024-25
School supply lists are now available on the website for grades 1-9. We also work with Write On Stationery to provide parents the option to order supplies to be shipped to the school. Happy shopping!
Spotlight on Learning: Grade 6s at Bunchberry Meadows
Check out our grade 6 students learning about the forest ecosystem in CBC’s segment on our field trip to Bunchberry Meadows with Inside Education. Way cool!
Summer School
Summer school is offered through Parkland School Division for students in grades 2-6. Grades 2-6 Summer School offers academic mornings combined with active afternoons. Students choose one of two academic morning options (Literacy/Numeracy or French Immersion) and then all students enjoy afternoon programming that focuses on a variety of activities, provided through CFL's My PATH program. Afternoon activities may include recreational sports, outdoor adventure activities, horsemanship and performing arts.
- Registration is open from April 2 to June 2.
- Classes run from July 2 to July 12.
School Fees
Please check your Parent Portal to see if you have unpaid school fees. These fees are now past due. Accounts must be up-to-date before the end of the school year to avoid referral to our Accounts Receivable department in the upcoming school year.
Utensils for Lunches
As a reminder, WE DO NOT SUPPLY FORKS, KNIVES, AND SPOONS to students for lunches. These items must be brought from home.
Stony Plain Try-Transit Summer Pass
