Upcoming Kindergarten and High School Open House Events

Open House season is coming up quick! Registration for new and returning students begins on February 12, 2024 for all students Pre-K to Grade 12! The High School first time parent information night is Monday February 5 and the open house is Tuesday February 13. Kindergarten Open Houses for all PSD schools is Thursday February 15 from 6-7pm. For anyone who is interested in learning more about Nature Kindergarten, there will be an information session on Wednesday February 7. Please see our website for details.

Report Cards

Our mid-year report cards are a “snapshot” of your child’s learning and achievement at this point in the year. These reports are now LIVE on Parent Portal. Please log in to view or print your child’s report card.

Alberta Education Annual Assurance Survey

Every year, parents of students in grades 4 & 7 are invited to complete a survey to provide feedback about how well our school is doing in a variety of areas. If your child is in grade 4 or 7 this year, you can expect to receive a code by mail. We very much appreciate you taking the time to complete this survey, as these results guide many aspects of our school’s annual Development Plan and help us to establish and evaluate our goals each year. We really do read and review your feedback about our school and programs. If you have any questions about this survey, please feel free to reach out to Adrienne Owen at the school office.

Breakfast Program

Just a reminder that thanks to our parent and grandparent volunteers, as well as the President’s Choice Children’s Charity and the Breakfast Club of Canada, we are able to provide daily breakfast for all students. The menu changes daily and includes items such as cereal with milk, toast, granola bars, yogurt and granola, fruit, and eggs. Breakfast is served in our nutrition nook between 8:15-8:35 daily. Please note that if your child has specific dietary restrictions or allergies, we may be able to accommodate these with advance notice. Please contact our office if you have questions or concerns, or to discuss suitable accommodations in these cases.

Visitors at School

For safety reasons, High Park School is a closed campus. All visitors and guests must report to the office, and all communications and deliveries to students should also go through our office. If you are dropping off items to your child, please come to the office first and we will get it where it needs to go. Unscheduled classroom visits can be disruptive to learning activities and school routines, so we ask that parents do not proceed to classes unless approved to do so.

Hot Lunch

Hot Lunch is offered to students by the Parent Advisory League from October to May.  More information can be found on our High Park school website under the Lunch Program. You must register each school year in order to place an order. The code is always HPHL. The deadline to order hot lunches for March is February 25.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to give me a call at the school office at (780) 963-2222 or email me at adrienne.owen@psd.ca to connect.
