Enjoy the family time this long weekend! There is no school on Friday, Oct. 6 or Monday, Oct. 9 for Thanksgiving.
Parent-Teacher Interviews This Week
A reminder that our parent-teacher interviews are held this coming week on Tuesday, Oct 10 and Wednesday, Oct 11. Please book your appointment online through our website. Please note that bookings for the current day close at 2:00pm on that day.
PAL Casino Fundraiser
PAL says… We need volunteers for our upcoming casino fundraiser! The single biggest monetary impact you can make on our school is volunteering for this event. We make $18-$20,000 for the school during this 2-day event! Volunteer with your significant other and make it a date night! Dates are December 17th and 18th and shifts are 11am-7pm, 6:30pm-2:30am, or 11pm-2:30am - both days. We still need to fill 19 spots. PAL Presents… Halloween Hoopla
On Oct. 27 PAL is hosting Halloween Hoopla at the school gym. Please stay tuned for details. In the meantime, if you are able to volunteer to assist with this event, including setting up and bringing supplies for a Haunted House, please contact highparkschoolpal@gmail.com. Thanks in advance for your support!
Breakfast Program
We offer a daily breakfast program to all students from 8:15 to 8:30am. The menu varies weekly and includes toast with jam or Cheez-Wiz, Cheese, Fruit, Cereal with Milk, Applesauce, Granola Bars, Yogurt and Granola.
Visitors at School
For safety reasons, High Park School is a closed campus. All visitors and guests must report to the office, and all communications and deliveries to students should also go through our office. If you are bringing something to your child, please ensure you come to the office and we will get the item where it needs to go. Unscheduled classroom visits can be disruptive to learning activities and school routines, so we ask for your cooperation in this matter.
School Fees
School fees will be posted to Parent Portal at the beginning of October. Statements will go out to parents by email when they are ready to be paid.
Hot Lunch
Hot Lunch is offered to students by the Parent Advisory League from October to May. More information can be found on our High Park school website under the Lunch Program. You must register each school year in order to place an order. The code is always HPHL. The deadline to order hot lunches for November is October 25.
Attendance
A reminder that if your child must be absent from school for any reason, it is important to notify our office by phone or email. Regular attendance is very important to your child’s success at school, and we do miss our students when they are away. If we do not know of the reason for your child’s absence, our office will make a call home to inquire for safety and reporting reasons. We appreciate your prompt communication of student absences with our office staff.
Utensils for Lunches and Snack/Breakfast Program
We will no longer be supplying cutlery to students as it is at a significant cost and we are also trying to reduce waste. Please ensure your child has a set of utensils in their lunch each day.
