HPS Apr 22 Weekly Update

High Park School Memo

Week of Apr. 22 - Apr. 26

Attention Volunteers! THANK YOU FOR HELPING US BLOOM!

With our heartfelt thanks, we invite you to a special celebration in honour of the tremendous amount of support and time given to our school.

Please join us in the High Park gym from 1:30-2:30pm on May 15th for some drinks and treats. Please RSVP by May 1st by sending an email to highpark@psd.ca. We hope to see you there!

Government Engagement Opportunity: Cell Phones in Schools

You are invited to participate in an online survey about the future of cellphone use in elementary, junior high, and senior high schools. You can access the survey at Survey Link. The survey will be open until May 3, 2024.

Input from this targeted engagement will help inform potential future government direction.

Morning and After School Supervision

A reminder that our morning supervision starts and school doors open at 8:15 am. Please arrange for your child to arrive no earlier than this time, as we do not provide supervision. Breakfast runs from 8:15-8:35 each morning. Supervision after school ends at 3:15 - students should not be on the premises after this time unless they are participating in an after-school activity.

Lost and Found

Are you missing anything? Please check out our lost and found. We have set items out on a table near the front office to help display, but we gather more items each day! Any items not claimed are donated at the end of each month.

On Monday, April 15, our school had a pep rally for the RunWild event, which will be held on May 4th and 5th. RunWild will help you teach students about healthy living and community giving as they prepare for a fitness race and as they learn about the important work at the Zebra Child And Youth Advocacy Center. Our school will be holding our own version of the event so students can participate, later in May, but families may also wish to register for the community event. More information about this event can be found at https://www.runwild.ca. Check out our photos from the Pep Rally!

Hot Lunch

Hot Lunch is offered to students by the Parent Advisory League from October to May.  More information can be found on our High Park school website under the Lunch Program. You must register each school year in order to place an order. The code is always HPHL. The deadline to order hot lunches for May is April 25.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to give me a call at the school office at (780) 963-2222 or email me at adrienne.owen@psd.ca to connect.
